Mayo Clinic to lead a new radiotracer trial for detecting pancreatic cancer

Newswise — ROCHESTER, Minn. — In an academic-industrial collaboration, the Mayo Clinic is assessing in a clinical trial a new radiotracer in pancreatic cancer imaging.

As part of the investigation, the new agent, 68Ga-Fibroblast-Activation-Protein-Inhibitors (FAPI)-46 (68Ga-FAPI-46), will be compared with 18-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG), which is the current standard-of-care radiotracer, in positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of pancreatic cancer.

“The research will focus on pancreatic cancer and evaluate whether this radiotracer does what it’s supposed to do, and whether it provides incremental information above and beyond the standard of care,” says Ajit Goenka, MD, principal investigator and a Mayo Clinic

Sarah McLachlan has poked fun at her viral and emotional commercials to prevent animal cruelty in a new Super Bowl ad for Busch Light Beer.

The 30 second ad, which was released two weeks ahead of this year’s Super Bowl, began with the brand’s “Busch Guy” explaining a guide for surviving life out in the wilderness.

And so we’re in 2022… another year for us… but the first and only winter for my bees. Huddled in their nest, resting their wings, winter bees tend to live longer than summer bees. But still their life-span is measured in months, not years.

On any dry day this winter, my colony has continued to be active, flying and finding yellow and orange pollens. In the photo below (taken a week or so ago) I’ve found one returning with bright orange pollen. I’m not seeing much in flower, so am not sure what this might be. Possibly willow or mahonia?
